Homes with pools are not rare in the Heights, but they are not common either. What is difficult to find however is a recently built home on a double lot for under a million dollars. Typically Heights builders maximize profits by building very large homes on their double lots. This makes sense for the builder, but not many buyers can afford $1M -$2M homes.

What makes 440 W 27th St so unique is that it hits the sweet spot of SF, lot size and price. The story of this home is unique. The current owner bought 440 W 27th St new in 2012. It was built on a single 25 ft wide lot, as are most new homes. The builder was Ostlind Thomas, a great Heights  Builder known for quality features and attention to detail. The house next door was old and dilapidated.
